Protection of Personal Information
Clinique vétérinaire des Vallées places great importance on protecting the personal information of its clients. The information collected is treated confidentially and in accordance with the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).
Personal Information Collected
As part of our services, we collect only the information necessary to open and manage the records of our clients and their animals, including:
- Name
- Address
- Phone number
- Email address
- Information concerning the animal and its medical record, linked to its owner
Use of Personal Information
Personal information is used only for the following purposes:
- To open and manage your record in our veterinary management software (Logivet);
- To provide veterinary care to your animal;
- To perform and interpret diagnostic tests, including radiographs, ultrasounds, and laboratory analyses;
- To transmit the information necessary to external laboratories in order to carry out analyses;
- To transmit certain information from the medical record to a specialized veterinary clinic when this is necessary for ongoing care, with your verbal consent;
- To communicate with you regarding your animal’s care, appointments, or follow-up on your record.
We collect only the information necessary to provide our services.
Disclosure of Personal Information
Your personal information is disclosed only to the persons or organizations that need access to it in the context of the services requested, including:
- External laboratories that perform the prescribed analyses;
- Specialized veterinary clinics involved in the care of your animal, with your verbal consent;
- Technology service providers when this is necessary for the secure operation of our systems, in compliance with applicable confidentiality requirements.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Retention of Information
Personal information is retained securely for a period of five (5) years following your animal's last examination. After that period, it is securely destroyed or anonymized where retention is permitted by law.
Your Rights
You may, at any time, request:
- Access to the personal information concerning you;
- Correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Withdrawal or deletion of information where permitted by law and our deontologic.
